Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Farm Next Door collects, uses, shares, protects and retains personal information used by the marketplace.

Information we collect

Account identity and contact details; store profiles and locations; listings and images; baskets, orders, fulfilment addresses and delivery calculations; order and support messages; notification preferences; review and moderation records; and technical logs such as request identifiers, device/browser information and security events. We do not collect card details because Farm Next Door does not process payment.

Why we use it

To authenticate users, operate search and maps, create and fulfil orders, enable messages and notifications, review stores, answer support requests, prevent misuse, diagnose failures, improve the service and meet legal obligations.

Analytics preference

With your permission, we use Vercel Web Analytics and, when configured, Google Analytics to understand how visitors use public pages and improve the service. Public analytics URLs omit query strings and fragments; private marketplace routes are excluded. Analytics is not used to inspect marketplace messages, order contents, delivery addresses or payment arrangements. You can change this preference at any time using Analytics preferences in the site footer.

When information is shared

Order details are shared only with the buyer and the relevant seller as needed for fulfilment. Public store and listing details are visible to visitors. Service providers may process information for hosting, database, authentication, geocoding, email, storage, analytics and monitoring. We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, rights or the service.

Where information is processed

Farm Next Door uses cloud providers including AWS Cognito, Supabase, Vercel, mapping/geocoding, analytics and email services. Their systems may process or store information outside Australia. Provider locations and subprocessors can change as their services evolve.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and marketplace information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed for orders, support, safety, fraud prevention, backups and legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. Some records may remain for a limited period in backups or where law or an unresolved dispute requires retention.

Access, correction and complaints

Use Account to update your contact details. To request access, correction or deletion, sign in and use Contact, selecting Delete my account data where appropriate. You may also email info@farmnextdoor.net. We may verify your identity before acting on a request and will explain if information cannot be deleted.

Security

We use authenticated access, resource-level authorization, restricted service credentials and operational logging. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your password and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
